2K Games aims to create a truly authentic Italian mafia story in Mafia: The Old Country, focusing on the origins of organized crime. The game will feature voice acting in Sicilian, with full localization for both the in-game UI and subtitles in Italian language. The game will be shown for the first time at The Game Awards, on 12th December at 4:30PM PT / 7:30PM ET / 12:30AM GMT.
Mafia: The Old Country Release Date
A trailer for Mafia: The Old Country was leaked during a YouTube ad before The Game Awards, showing a short clip of the trailer due to be aired this evening and revealing a release date of Summer 2025 for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
Just a few hours after this, 2K Games accidentally published the YouTube video live for a few seconds, and some subs quickly picked it up. You can view it below, but for how long we don’t know.

“Fight to survive in this dangerous and unforgiving era, with action brought to life by the authentic realism and rich storytelling that the critically acclaimed Mafia series is known for.” reads a description sent to us via 2K during its reveal at GamesCom 2024 in August earlier in the year.
“A thrilling story set in 1900s Sicily, during the origins of the Mafia,” Hanger 13 President Nick Baynes said during the reveal. “We’re going back to the roots of what fans love about the Mafia franchise, crafting a deep linear narrative, with that classic mob movie feeling.”
