Publisher Perfect World Entertainment and developer Echtra Games today announced that Torchlight III’s free Spring Update is now live, introducing a suite of quality-of-life updates alongside the Cursed Captain as a new playable class.
The ghastly Cursed Captain fulfills the role of a mid-range combatant, relying on a mixture of large cannons and undead swashbuckler minions to get rid of anyone or anything that opposes them.

Collecting doubloons during combat empowers the Cursed Captain’s skills, while the Cursed and Piracy skill trees give players different build options. The class also introduces capes as a new class-specific armor type.
Torchlight III’s free Spring Update updates the ARPG’s pet system while introducing four new species of pets – Stag, Shiba Inu, Bulldog, and Fox – that players can take with them while adventuring, as well as the new Fur and Fashion contract.
UI improvements, additional pet slots, and new fort items, including the Fox Arch, Wyrm Skull, and Netherim Specimen also count among the new content that’s available starting today.
