Valorant currently lacks the more simple invite system found in most games but that doesn’t mean adding friends is that difficult. In some ways the process you have to go through is restrictive, although it does mean you won’t be seeing random invite spam any time soon - at least as long as you don’t post your details online.
In this guide we’re going to show you how to add friends on Valorant. It will require communicating with your soon to be friends a little more than simply finding their profile and clicking, but if you’re looking for a friendship that will help you win games, more teamwork isn’t a bad thing.
Valorant Friendship - How To Add Friends On Valorant
First things first is that the inviter needs the invitees details. If you want someone to add you as a friend, you have to give them your full Riot ID including #number.
Invitee
- Log into the game.
- There's a bar on the right hand side with PLAY NOW at the top.
- Hover over your name below the PLAY NOW and you'll see your username followed by a hashtag and number.
- There's no copy functionality so you'll have to write this down.
- Send this over to the inviter however you like.
Inviter
- Log into the game.
- At the bottom of the right hand bar there is an add friend button. Click this to reveal two input boxes.
- The first input box is for a Riot ID and in this you type (or paste) the username.
- The second input box is for the Tagline and in this you place the numbers after the hashtag. The # symbol is not used.
- Click the + to the right of these fields.
- If this has all worked, a system message in the bottom left of the screen will tell you the request has been sent.
Invitee
- When you've received the friend request it will appear at the bottom of the right hand bar.
- You can accept the invitation with ADD FRIEND or reject with the X.
- If you have more than one invite pending, you can scroll through them with the arrow buttons.
- Once accepted, your new contact will appear in the friends list below your name, and if you are in a party together they will appear with your name.
