Update: World of Warcraft: Shadowlands’ release date has been locked down to October 27.
Original: World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, the upcoming expansion to the popular MMORPG, is set to enter beta next week, Game Director Ion Hazzikostas announced today during a livestream.
Aside from the beta start date announcement, Shadowlands also received a Fall 2020 release window.
When it moves into beta next week, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will allow players to level up all the way to the new maximum of 60. In case you’re not in the loop, the upcoming expansion will bring with it a level squish that sees the original maximum level reinstated.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Beta Begins Next Week, Full Release In Fall 2020
Torghast, Shadowlands’ endgame-focused rogue-lite dungeon will also have its restrictions removed when the beta begins. This essentially means that beta testers will be able to play as much of it as they want.
To be eligible to participate in the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands beta, you need to head over to the Shadowlands page on the World of Warcraft website and log in using your Blizzard account.
Then, click the “Beta Opt-in” button in the upper right corner. You’ll be redirected to an Opt-in Now button that’s lower on the same page. Click it, and you should get a notification telling you that your Opt-in was successful.
Afterward, the waiting game begins as Shadowlands beta invites are given out at random.
