Thoroughly exploring the planet of Rykdar Minoris during Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader’s first chapter leads to hearing a rumor regarding an Unidentified Voidship that has made its way into the system. Although you may be a little caught up with other matters right away, investigating it worth considering and how you deal with it determines the types of rewards you obtain.
After the rumor is added to your tab, you’ll find Rogue Trader’s Unidentified Voidship location by flying your ship to Rykad Majoris and scanning the planet. Your interaction here is purely text-based, but several options open up as soon as you click its dedicated icon.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader Unidentified Voidship
When deciding how to deal with Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader’s Unidentified Voidship, you’ll need to first choose between sending a squad down to investigate or immediately destroying the vessel with a precise shot.
The first option involves a Lore (Xenos) check of 50. When successful, it reveals the ship as having belonged to the Drukhari (also known as the Dark Elves), yields experience, and branches out into several approaches suggested by various members of your crew. We’ll explore them first.
The first revolves around Abelard’s advice to send more people in an effort to discover what the Drukhari wanted on the planet.
Doing so offers flavor text that delves into the nature of the alien voidship. It also involves an agility test that, if succesful, leads to obtaining experience and the following bundle of Drukhari riches:
- Assortment of Drukhari Barbed Needles x10
- Drukhari Shattershard x5
- Piercing Splinter Cannon (two-handed exotic ranged weapon)
The second choice is based on Idira’s suggestion to recall your people from the ship. This simply ends your interaction but, as opposed to the others, also allows you to reconsider your approach.
The third dialog option sees you accepting Argenta’s suggestion that the only good xenos is a dead one, which leads to blowing the ship up and gaining experience in the process.
The fourth prompts more of your crew to head towards Rogue Trader’s Unidentified Voidship in search of more valuables. This yields experience alongside the same Drukhari items as following Abelard’s advice does, only without the Agility check.
The fifth choice sees you tapping into your role as a faithful servant of the Emperor and blowing the ship to bits, while earning experience in the process.
Returning to the very first set of choices, opting to deal with Rogue Trader’s Unidentified Voidship by destroying it without sending men to the planet, only appears to gain you a small amount of Scrap, a resource used to repair and upgrade your Voidship.
It may, however, still be the preferred approach, depending on how you’re roleplaying your version of the protagonist.
That covers what you need to know about how to deal With the Unidentified Voidship in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader.
